Stevie Nicks let the songs on her new album, '24 Karat Gold,' sit in the vaults for years before properly recording them, so she isn't being shy about letting them out in the weeks leading up to the new LP's release.

Nicks has just posted her third preview from the record, the album's title track, which you can sample via the embedded video above. It arrives on the heels of two earlier pre-release previews, 'The Dealer' and 'Lady.'

As she told Rolling Stone, the decision to delve into her back pages for the new album was partly motivated by the tight deadline she faced prior to rejoining Fleetwood Mac for the band's upcoming tour, which finds singer and keyboard player Christine McVie back in the lineup for the first time in years. "I called [producer] Dave Stewart and said, 'I've got the songs, but how do we make a record in two months?'" Nicks recalled. "He said, 'Nashville. That's what they do.' It's like checking yourself into music rehab."

Working at the city's clockwork pace proved an adjustment for Nicks, who's accustomed to keeping odd hours while waiting for the muse to strike, but she found the businesslike tone of the sessions refreshing in at least one way -- as she joked during the interview, "I'm used to bands where we argue over how to do the song. These Nashville guys just say, 'Yes, ma'am.'"

'24 Karat Gold' is scheduled to arrive on Oct. 7, and will be released in a variety of formats, including digital, CD, and vinyl, as well as a collectors' limited edition deluxe package, which includes two bonus tracks and a 48-page photobook. The album is currently available for pre-order through Nicks' official site.
