Former Journey lead singer Steve Perry has revealed that he underwent two recent operations to treat skin cancer. In a rare post to his official site, he states that his doctors believe that no further operations will be required to remove all the cancer cells.

As Perry (who can be seen here with former MTV VJ and current Sirius XM radio host Martha Quinn, still bearing the scar from his surgeries) explains, "Three weeks ago a routine mole was taken off my face and the lab report came back Melanoma skin cancer. I've had two surgeries in two weeks to remove all the cancer cells and I've been told they think they got it all and no other treatments are required."

Perry also shares the extremely sweet and heartbreaking story of Kellie Nash, a woman he met and fell in love with back in 2011, who was fighting her own cancer battle the entire time he knew her. Sadly, she died last December. He talks about their first date, and her courageous fight, then concludes by saying, "There's so much more to this story than you know and soon you will know more about it. Though Kellie and I were only together for 1 and 1/2 years, it was a lifetime of love packed into every moment."
