Showing that he’s having as much success with rum as he has had with tequila, Sammy Hagar has launched a second flavor to his Sammy Beach Bar line. And he’s given us a recipe for a tropical cocktail to help us forget about winter.

Fitting for the Red Rocker, Sammy’s Beach Bar Rum Red Head is a 35 percent ABV red-bodied rum that has been infused with macadamia nuts from Hawaii. As with the flagship product, it’s made from Maui Gold sugar cane and sells for $24.99 per bottle.

Sammy’s Maui Mama is a punch that involves two fruit juices, both flavors of Sammy’s Beach Bar Rum and coconut syrup. You can find the complete recipe below.

Launched in 2011, Sammy’s Beach Bar Rum has won numerous awards, including a double gold medal at the 2013 Los Angeles Spirits Competition, the Award of Excellence from Beverage Industry News and a 94 point rating from Tasting Panel Magazine.

Two weeks ago, Hagar announced another new venture. Beginning this spring, he will host a syndicated radio show called 'Sammy Hagar’s Top Rock Countdown.' He says the program will be comprised of “lists of his favorite party songs, comeback albums, unsung heroes or best tunes from a specific year or decade” -- calling it "my life in music."
