Randy Bachman – September 2012 Classic Rock Birthdays

Randy Bachman -- guitarist, songwriter and founding member of The Guess Who and Bachman-Turner Overdrive -- celebrates his 69th birthday on Sept. 27.

Bachman started playing guitar at age 15, and just two years later founded the legendary Guess Who. By 1965, the band would have a No. 1 hit in Canada, and just five years later their first U.S. chart-topper with the immortal 'American Woman.'

After disbanding the Guess Who, Bachman went on to begin Bachman-Turner Overdrive... another band for which he would achieve impressive success.
