Peter Criss Rips Kiss for Not Giving ‘Ten Minutes’ to Fans for Hall of Fame
“What’s wrong with giving ten minutes of your time for the forty years that you’ve given us?” the band's original drummer asks on the upcoming episode of VH1 Classic's 'That Metal Show.' (Without seeing the interview, one presumes Criss might mean "...for the forty years the fans have given us?") He spoke those words at the end of the show, when he addressed Kiss fans everywhere to say that he was upset at being excluded from performing with the group on April 10. The 'That Metal Show' episode will air Saturday, March 22 and 11:00PM Eastern.
Reminiscent of last year's scenario with Guns N' Roses, this has turned into a situation where no one is likely to walk away happy. Ace Frehley recently said the current incarnation of Kiss is "half a Kiss cover band.' Stanley called the Hall "tainted, corrupted and distorted," which led to the Hall's CEO to pen a statement explaining why only the original members would be inducted. Last week, Simmons and Stanley exchanged words with critic, Hall of Fame committee member and longtime Kiss hater Dave Marsh.
Even though there will be no reunion of the original lineup at the induction, Criss and Frehley still have the memories of when they performed at 'That Metal Show' host's Eddie Trunk's party last October. It was the first time they had been on stage together since 2000.
