Paul McCartney has given "his whole-hearted blessing" to a benefit concert and album in support of The Women and Cancer Fund, a not-for-profit charity established in the memory of his former wife Linda McCartney.

According to Billboard, the show is a kick-off for the album 'Let Us In Nashville: A Tribute to Linda McCartney,' which features all of the evening's performers plus the Eagles' Timothy B. Schmit and multi-Grammy Award winning artist Ricky Skaggs. Linda (pictured above with Paul) died of breast cancer in 1998.

The musicians involved in the project will put their own sonic spins on McCartney tunes during the 'Let Us In' concert. Some of those selected are classic Beatles songs.

Actor Jeff Daniels will host the event, and also perform with his own band, on Monday (Nov. 7) at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium.

The concert and album are part of efforts to raise awareness and proceeds for the charity, which promotes prevention, lifestyle awareness, enhances available health services and advocates advanced breast cancer and children's cancer research.
