August is notoriously a slow month for new rock releases, but there are a few gems set to drop this year. Perhaps the most anticipated August release is Red Hot Chili Peppers' new album, 'I'm With You,' but there are also some interesting reissues and limited editions of classic albums on their way.

While we wait for the release of a bevy of high-profile September discs -- including new albums by Chickenfoot and Jane's Addiction, as well as the special releases from Pink Floyd and Nirvana -- August brings us a few noteworthy discs.

In addition to the Chili Peppers' new album, Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen's band Manraze will drop their second disc, 'Punkfunkrootsrock' on Aug. 2, while Slash appears on the soundtrack to the animated movie 'Phineas & Ferb Across the 2nd Dimension.'
