Metallica's self-titled Black Album pressed on white vinyl sold for big money during an eBay auction that ended on Halloween (Oct. 31). This very rare copy was one of 50 produced and released in March 2010 by Warner Bros. Records.

The interest in this rarity was high, with the 36th bidder earning the title "winner" and closing out at the final mega price of $1,145.00. Though described as "used," the seller confirms that these four, metal rarity 12" LPs, play at 45 RPM and are in "minty" condition. The covers are described as in "very good condition," having "no wear, no bends and no damage."

The 12 songs are spread across four pieces of two-sided white vinyl with all the record labels being black and the covers featuring the famous Metallica logo on front, song listings on back. An insert sheet is also part of the package, which include black and white graphic images of the band members' faces, the song titles, lyrics and credits.

Apparently this record was only available as a special offer through the band's Met Club fan club and Warner's Because Sound Matters promotional campaign.  And although it has been out for less than 18 months, due to the limited pressing, its value is equal to an item ten times its age.
