Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Gary Rossington Chosen for Salute at Georgia Music Hall of Fame Awards
Lynyrd Skynyrd's guitarist, Gary Rossington, will join a roster of fellow distinguished Georgian performing artists and industry leaders in being honored on Sunday, Oct. 14 during the 34th Annual Georgia Music Hall of Fame Awards Concert.
Rossington will be honored for the many accolades he has experienced throughout his career as the founding member of Lynyrd Skynyrd. The guitar great has contributed to the group’s 30 million-plus worldwide album sales, three double platinum records and helped them secure a position among the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time by Rolling Stone magazine.
Rossington will also be honored in the Songwriter Category, having received credits for well over 120 songs throughout his career, including 'Sweet Home Alabama,' 'Simple Man' and 'What’s Your Name.'
The 34th Annual Georgia Music Hall of Fame Awards Concert and Show will air on GPB (Georgia Public Broadcasting) on Sunday, Oct. 14, live from the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre starting at 5:00PM.
