Led Zeppelin’s ‘Physical Graffiti’ Reissue to Be Streamed at Live Event With Jimmy Page
Led Zeppelin will present a global premiere to their upcoming Physical Graffiti reissue with a live event on Thursday that includes a stream of the album and a Q&A session with Jimmy Page.
According to a press release, Yahoo Live will host the event at 2PM ET. In addition to premiering the remastered album, the event will also feature the seven bonus tracks that are included in the companion disc of the Deluxe Edition. You can listen here or on mobile devices via the Yahoo Screen app.
Page will hold the Q&A session in front of a small live audience at London's Olympic Studios, where parts of Physical Graffiti and several other Zeppelin albums were recorded. Fans are encouraged to participate in the chat by using the hashtag #ledzeplive.
The expanded Physical Graffiti will come out on Feb. 24, the 40th anniversary of its original release. The unreleased tracks on the Deluxe Edition include rough and early mixes of seven songs, including “Kashmir,” “Trampled Under Foot,” “Houses of the Holy” and “In My Time of Dying.” There is also a version of "In the Light" with different lyrics.
Physical Graffiti, the band's sixth record, was the only double studio album Led Zeppelin released during their career. But it wasn't supposed to be a double record. When they realized the eight songs they had recorded were longer than a traditional LP, they decided to fill out a second album with songs that had been sitting in their vaults.
