David Gilmour began his first U.S. tour in 10 years on Thursday (March 24) with a show at the famed Hollywood Bowl. The Pink Floyd guitarist was helped out for four songs by someone who has been in the news a bit lately, David Crosby.

In a 22-song show (the setlist is below), Gilmour performed seven of the 10 tracks from his most recent album, Rattle That Lock, including four of the night's first five songs, broken up by Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here." He delivered many other Pink Floyd classics on which he sang lead, such as "Money," "Us and Them" and "Time," he also reached back into the group's more obscure side, including "Fat Old Sun" from Atom Heart Mother and The Piper at the Gates of Dawn's "Astronomy Domine," a Syd Barrett and Richard Wright composition from before Gilmour joined the band.

Crosby came out three times on the night. He appeared during the first set to sing "A Boat Lies Waiting" and "The Blue." He resurfaced in the second for "On an Island" and again in the encore for the song which closed out the evening, "Comfortably Numb," where he contributed the parts originally sung by Roger Waters.

Billboard noted that the Bowl's bandshell was incorporated into the production, with longtime production designer Marc Brickman "installing about 30 additional projectors at points midway back in the venue to ensure every inch of the bandshell was frequently utilized as screen space." The highlight, they said, was during "Money" when the lighting made it seem as if "hundreds of giant coins appeared to roll down the curves of the Bowl’s proscenium."

Three weeks ago, Graham Nash said that Crosby, Stills & Nash would never record or tour again on account of the deterioration of his relationship with Crosby. Earlier this week, Crosby fought back by saying that it started when Nash wrote his 2013 memoir Wild Tales: A Rock & Roll Life, which Crosby claimed was "full of inaccuracies and chock-full of misinformation."

Gilmour will give a concert at the Forum in Los Angeles tomorrow night. He will then perform in Toronto, Chicago and New York before returning to Europe this summer, including two nights in Pompeii, Italy, where Pink Floyd famously played in 1971.
