Back in June we reported that Bruce Springsteen had been named as MusiCares' Person of the Year for 2013. Today, the organization announced, via press release, the list of stars who will perform at this year's tribute benefit, which will be take place on Friday, Feb. 8, 2013 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Not surprisingly, the lineup includes many of Bruce Springsteen's longtime friends, including Jackson Browne, Sting, Patti Smith, Eddie Vedder and Tom Morello, all of whom have shared stages with Springsteen throughout the years. Rounding out the list of classic rockers are Elton John and Neil Young, who roped Springsteen into playing his own Bridge School benefits in 1986 and 1995.

Even less of a shock is the news that another friend of Springsteen, comedian and fellow New Jersey native Jon Stewart, will be the evening's host. In November, Stewart performed at the annual Stand Up for Heroes benefit, which also featured a set by Springsteen.

Other performers include soul-gospel legend Mavis Staples, country music power couple Faith Hill and Tim McGraw, Emmylou Harris, pop star John Legend and indie stars Alabama Shakes and Mumford and Sons.

Held in the week leading up to the Grammy Awards since 1989, the MusiCares Foundation's Person of the Year tribute honors a musician for both their artistic achievements and philanthropic efforts. In addition to the tribute concert, a gala dinner and silent auction raises funds for the organization, which offers programs and services to those in the music community who have been affected by medical, legal or drug problems.
