Publisher and author Paul Williams passed away on March 27 following a long struggle with early-onset Alzheimer’s. Williams rose to prominence as the founder and editor of the groundbreaking music magazine Crawdaddy!

For generations of rock and roll fans, Crawdaddy was the ultimate in rock reading, breaking lots of ground and widening the scope of music journalism along the way. He started Crawdaddy! in 1966 and although he left in 1968, his career continued for decades that included several books and a productive stint for Rolling Stone. He is survived by his wife, singer/songwriter Cindy Lee Berryhill.
