Former Iron Maiden drummer Clive Burr passed away on March 12. Burr had long battled multiple sclerosis. He died in his sleep and was 56 years old. Burr joined Maiden in 1979 and played the first three classic Maiden albums; ‘Iron Maiden’ (1980), ‘Killers’ (1981) and ‘The Number of the Beast’ (1982). He later went on to play with a variety of groups including Trust and Alcatrazz.  Maiden founder Steve Harris said of Burr, "He was a wonderful person and an amazing drummer who made a valuable contribution to Maiden."
