Known as the “World’s No. 1 Promotions Man,” Pete Bennett died of a heart attack on Nov. 24. After a start working with Motown Records, Bennett went on to dealings with rock and roll heavy hitters. He worked with the Beatles as promotion manager, and would eventually play a part in all their solo careers as well. Another of his clients were the Rolling Stones, who he was with from 1964 through 1976.

He would also play a role in the careers of Steven Tyler and the Jacksons. Music wasn't his only trick; he did his thing for such Hollywood royalty as John Wayne and Elizabeth Taylor as well. There is some debate as to his real age -- he claimed to be 67 but other sources add on a good 10 years.
