Roger Waters

Roger Waters has been Pink Floyd's most prolific individual artist, though you might not know it. After all, he spent much of the time after releasing 'Amused to Death' touring solo versions of his old band's 'Dark Side of the Moon' and 'The Wall.' But he's actually issued more albums than any of his former bandmates since leaving Pink Floyd -- and could bolster that total if you added 1983's 'The Final Cut,' which was essentially his work as interpreted by the band. His solo career hasn't disappointed, even with surprising experiments along the way like the sequencers on "Radio K.A.O.S." and opera on 2005's 'Ca Ira.' All along, the essential elements of Waters' best work in Pink Floyd have remained -- his way with a narrative, his cutting wit, his sharp commentary. And when he's collaborated (as with Pink Floyd) alongside a distinctive guitarist, be that Eric Clapton in the 'Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking' era or Jeff Beck on 'Amused to Death,' Waters has proven himself time and again equal to the legacy of what came before.

Up until recently, the only wall allowed in Boston's Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox, was the mighty Green Monster. That is until yesterday (July 1) when Roger Waters rolled in with a wall of his own. Building  'The Wall' of the Pink Floyd era double album variety in the historic ball park, Waters made quick work of the legendary stadium, making it his own musical playground.

While he might be currently looking in the rear view mirror, celebrating the legacy of Pink Floyd’s classic ‘The Wall’ album, the experience has put Roger Waters in the planning mode for a new solo album, which would be his first proper solo release since 1990’s ‘Amused to Death.’

It was the unthinkable. Roger Waters, the creative force behind Pink Floyd's 'The Wall,' was left out of the band's mid-80s reunion. The group initially split in 1983, but David Gilmour and Nick Mason got the itch to reunite two years later. They added exiled keyboardist Richard Wright, which left one stumbling block.

Former Pink Floyd rocker Roger Waters has already announced a bunch of dates for his 'The Wall' North American summer trek, which is scheduled to kick off May 1 in Houston and run through a July 14 gig in Philadelphia. But one show that has not yet been revealed is a much-rumored stop at Boston's Fenway Park, where 'The Wall' would fit in quite nicely next to the ballpark's famed 37-foot-tall wall
