As their name implies, the New York-based Foreigner gathers members from both the U.S. and England, grounded by guitarist Mick Jones. They hit big in 1977 with their self-titled debut album, which spawned a pair of Top 10 singles, 'Feels Like the First Time' and 'Cold as Ice.' They racked up a handful of other hits over the next few years, with singer Lou Gramm at the mic. In 1981, they reached No. 2 (for a whopping 10 weeks!) with 'Waiting for a Girl Like You' from their only No. 1 album, '4.' In 1984 they scored their only No. 1 single, 'I Want to Know What Love Is.' After a couple more Top 10 hits, Gramm left in 1991, returned the following year and eventually left for good in 2003. Foreigner still perform today with a new singer.
