The shocking news that Jack Osbourne is suffering from multiple sclerosis caused his mother, Sharon, to break down when discussing it on 'The Talk,' the CBS talk show of which she is one of the co-hosts.

Co-host Julie Chen opened today's (June 18) episode by turning the show over to Sharon, who wiped tears from her eyes and struggled to find the composure to break the news in front of a live television audience. "He's great. He's doing really, really good and I want to thank everyone for all their texts and goodwill and love they send to us," Osbourne said.

Chen, calling Jack an "amazing guy" and "very courageous" explained to the viewers that Jack was battling the disease, and asked her if she had anything else to say. "Just thank you to everyone for all their good wishes," Sharon continued. "It's been amazing for Jack 'cause I really believe that vibes of prayer help."

This is not the first time Sharon Osbourne has faced adversity under the glaring lights of television. In 2002, her battle with cancer coincided with the filming of their MTV reality show, 'The Osbournes.'

Jack will appear on 'The Talk' on Wednesday to discuss his condition, a disease that attacks the brain and central nervous system. There is no known cure for multiple sclerosis. He was diagnosed with the disease only a few weeks after the birth of his daughter, Pearl Clementine.
