Mick Jones has taken to Facebook to praise Ryan Adams' new version of 'I Want to Know What Love Is,' Foreigner's chart-topping 1984 hit.

"I happened to write that song you just did a cover on," Jones says in the message, "and I just wanted to say a few words about it. I think you've really done it proud. I think it's great to hear your voice on it. I've been a fan of yours for a long time, and I turned the rest of the guys onto you. I love it, man. Great organ sound, too. So, bravo."

Adams covered 'I Want to Know What Love Is' as part of a stop at NPR’s World Cafe, in a performance that "strips the song down to its essential components and makes it both bigger and sadder," according to Sterogum. You can listen to Adams' version below.

Foreigner plays Atlantic City tonight and tomorrow night, before leaving for a series of German dates into early November.
