Rush's Geddy Lee has dined on honeydew, drunk the milk of paradise and got himself out an ice cold beer from time to time, but now, he has the honor of having a wine scholarship created in his name!

The Canadian based charity organization Grapes Of Humanity voted unanimously to create a scholarship in Geddy's name. They have thus far committed over $26,000 to establish the Lee endowed fund. This donation amount will be matched by the government run Ontario Trust For Student Support.

Since Grapes Of Humanity began operations in 2001 as part of the Building Futures Campaign to help students, both Geddy and his partner in crime Alex Lifeson have been very active participants in the organization. This has helped to raise its profile and success. In addition to being a member of the board, he has also started the Grapes Under Pressure Rock Memorabilia Charity Auction, which has proven to be a huge success story of it's own.

"We are very pleased to support students in winemaking in recognition of this Canadian icon's magnificent contribution as a director of our charitable foundation," said Tony Aspler, president & CEO of Grapes For Humanity Canada. "We hope that the annual recipient of this scholarship will bring the same dedication to quality and to public spiritedness as Geddy Lee has brought to Canada's musical legacy."

So we raise a toast to Geddy who, come to think of it, has aged like a fine wine!
