Rolling Stones Announce 2014 Tour
The Rolling Stones will keep rolling in 2014. The band just announced a dozen shows in Australia, New Zealand and Japan, with a special kick-off date set for February 21 in Abu Dhabi. Mick Taylor, the group's guitarist during their fertile period of 1969-74, will again appear as a special guest at most of the shows.
Other stops on the '14 on Fire' tour include Perth, Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland, along with three separate shows in Tokyo. The Stones are promising at least two more dates in Asia to be announced later.
The band is coming off a series of huge concerts in the U.K. and the U.K. over the past year -- with Taylor making several appearances, including the Newark and London shows. The latter was recently released as the concert film 'Sweet Summer Sun: Hyde Park Live.'
The tour marked the 50th anniversary of the Stones. Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood last toured in 2007 in support of their most recent studio album, 'A Bigger Bang.' Last year, they released a career-spanning greatest-hits collection, 'GRRR!,' that included a pair of new songs.
