The third and final leg of Paul Simon's Homeward Bound tour will culminate in an appropriate place: His hometown of New York City.

These just-announced dates begin on Sept. 5 in New Orleans, and include several concerts in Florida, as well as stops in Atlanta, Ga., Washington D.C., Newark, N.J. and Pittsburgh, Pa. Simon will play two shows at Madison Square Garden on Sept. 21-22, with a concluding New York City concert to be held at an as-yet-unconfirmed venue.

The Homeward Bound tour is set to begin on May 16 in Vancouver. Tickets for the final leg go on sale Friday and Saturday, depending on the venue. Check Simon's website for additional details.

Simon has called these dates "a big thank you" to fans, before he settles in to spend more time with his family. Subsequently, he hopes to perform occasional dates for charity. The tour, of course, takes its title from the 1966 Simon & Garfunkel song he penned for Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme.
