Saturday Night Live's 40th anniversary special was a star-studded affair with plenty of impressive musical guests — and so was the afterparty, which reportedly featured a jam session featuring, among others, Paul McCartney, Prince and Taylor Swift.

According to Consequence of Sound, many of the special's performers moved on to the Plaza Hotel after closing out the show. There, McCartney served as bandleader for a raucous celebration that lasted until 4AM and included appearances from a motley assortment of superstars.

Fortunately, a few bits of video have surfaced, including Swift leading McCartney through a performance of her hit "Shake It Off" and joining in a rendition of his Beatles classic "I Saw Her Standing There," as well as some pretty priceless footage of Prince strolling across the room during an instrumental break with his guitar held aloft.

Reportedly also among the evening's many highlights: Blondie singer Deborah Harry joining Miley Cyrus and Ariana Grande for a cover of Aretha Franklin's "Respect," and Bill Murray getting up on stage with indie stars Haim and Prince for a performance of "Let's Go Crazy." Former SNL cast member Jimmy Fallon can be seen having the time of his life in most of the footage that's been posted, so if he looks a little worse for wear during tonight's episode of The Tonight Show, you know he has a pretty terrific excuse.
