After a week or so of speculation of what Paul McCartney could possibly be up to with all of his recent cryptic social media posts, he's finally announced some real news. A double A-sided single, "I Don't Know" and "Come On to Me," will be released tomorrow.

Along with the announcement of the new songs comes word that McCartney's next album will be released sometime this fall. This puts to rest the rumors, and the incorrect report from The Daily Edition last week, that the LP was coming out last Friday.

"Come On to Me" made its live debut last week in a fan-shot video from McCartney's recent intimate performance at a Liverpool pub that coincided with his upcoming appearance on The Late Late Show With James Corden's "Carpool Karaoke" this week.

According to a press release announcing the new single, "the two A-sides are polar opposites: 'I Don’t Know' being a plaintive, soul-soothing ballad as only Paul can deliver, and 'Come On to Me' a raucous stomper."

McCartney stirred the interest of fans over the past week when he started posting images online that contained little text or explanation. Occasionally, images of the onetime Beatles star working in the studio were tossed in there too, leading to the speculation that a new album was on the way – something that McCartney himself mentioned earlier this year.

When the record finally shows up later this year, it will be McCartney's first album of new material since 2013's New. There's no word if  "I Don't Know" and "Come On to Me" will appear on the LP or if they're a standalone single like the Beatles used to release back in the day.
