Two of the most iconic bands of the late '70s and early '80s, Blondie and Devo, are combining forces for a short summer tour. The 'Whip It To Shreds' tour (get it?!) will kick off Sept. 7 outside Seattle and wrap up in Chicago on Sept. 26.

Both bands have remained active since their respective reformations several years ago. Blondie, featuring core members Clem Burke, Chris Stein and, of course, Debbie Harry, released a new album 'Panic Of Girls' last fall (their third since reuniting) and have been touring off and on for the past decade.

Devo also issued an album of all-new material in 2010 called 'Something For Everybody.' The current Devo lineup includes four-fifths of the original lienup, both brothers Mothersbaugh (Mark and Bob) and Casale (Gerald and Bob), with drummer Josh Frese replacing original basher Alan Myers.

Blondie vocalist Debbie Harry said, “We can’t wait to get out on the road with Devo. It’s going to be an incredible show and we’re excited to share it with our fans.” Devo's Mark Mothersbaugh added his own take on the tour: “We are looking forward to performing alongside Blondie," he said, "and swapping costumes backstage.”
