"You've seen it on the Map, and have surely wondered: What on earth is the Globe of Death?"

So begins the latest intriguing message from the organizers at Metallica's Orion Music + More Festival, scheduled to return this year on June 8 and 9 at Belle Isle Park in Detroit, Mich. So what on earth is that Globe of Death, anyway? Is it a band on the lineup? A new Metallica song? Someone's new name for the roller coaster drum kit that Motley Crue's Tommy Lee recently retired?

None of the above. As the Orion announcement goes on to explain, "We're excited to announce that the Nerveless Nocks are bringing danger and excitement to Orion this summer with their daring motorcycle stunt act -- where fear is not an option! Watch this world-famous thrill-show family race their motorcycles within the confines of a 18-foot-tall steel ball cage. Michelangelo and Carolina Nock, along with their son Cyrus, will wow audiences with their skill and bravery racing around in circles and upside down, narrowly missing one another."

Fitting comfortably within the '+ More' part of the festival, the Globe of Death will be one of many non-musical attractions offered this year, including James Hetfield's Custom Car & Motorcycle Show, Kirk Hammett's Crypt, Lars Ulrich's Hit the Lights Film Tent and Robert Trujillo's Vans Vert Ramp. Featured bands (besides Metallica, natch) are scheduled to include Chevy Metal, Fu Manchu, the Bronx, and Baroness.
