Meat Loaf Prepares for Knee Surgery
Classic rocker Meat Loaf is preparing for knee surgery today. The 'Paradise by the Dashboard Light' singer posed for this picture for his Facebook page Monday afternoon, taken just minutes before he was set to go under the knife. An unidentified poster writes that the recovery process will take about two weeks.
"Thank you everyone for the thoughts, prayers and love you've been sending for Meats (sic) surgery today," the post reads. "He'll be checking out for 2 weeks whilst he starts the recovery process but we'll endeavor to step into his facebook shoes and keep you updated on his progress and all other happenings."
"We know he loves and appreciates his fans and is incredibly thankful to have such an overwhelming amount of support and good will for his recovery!"
Last week the singer -- born Marvin Lee Aday -- mentioned the surgery while commenting on a video of a young girl preparing for stomach cancer surgery. "Hopefully I can be as brave as her next week with my knee surgery," he wrote.
Meat Loaf's tour schedule is empty now that he's finished the Mad, Mad World tour. The final four dates of that show have been postponed indefinitely because of Hurricane Sandy.
