Lou Reed Releasing ‘Lollapalooza Live’ DVD, Touring Europe

Lou Reed is set to release a DVD of his 2009 gig at Lollapalooza in Chicago's Grant Park. The collection, due out this summer, will feature all eight songs he played at music festival.

The 'Lollapalooza Live' DVD, which comes out July 19 through Reed's own Sister Ray Enterprises, includes performances of his Velvet Underground songs 'Sweet Jane' and 'I'm Waiting for the Man,' as well as solo cuts like 'Dirty Blvd.' and 'Walk on the Wild Side.'

Meanwhile, Reed and illustrator Lorenzo Mattotti are releasing their book 'The Raven' in the early summer. The work, which is available for pre-order, is based on the poetry of Edgar Allen Poe. Reed tackled the same subject on his 2003 album, also called 'The Raven.'

In other news, Reed will embark on a European tour of festivals and headlining dates this summer. The jaunt kicks off July 2 in Paddock Wood, UK, and wraps up July 26 in Lyon, France. See the full itinerary below. In addition, he's performing this Thursday, May 19, at the Apollo Theater in New York as part of the Jazz Foundation benefit 'A Great Night in Harlem.'
