Lindsay Lohan is a young starlet with a reputation for living life to the extreme. And now she has a permanent reminder of that inked on her body: lyrics from Billy Joel's 1989 'Storm Front' hit, 'I Go to Extremes.'

Lohan -- who you may remember from such cinema classics as 'Freaky Friday,' 'Herbie: Fully Loaded' and . . . well, nothing much recently beyond court hearings and community service -- recently stopped by the Shamrock Tattoos parlor in Los Angeles to get a little Joel wisdom inked in cursive on her ribcage:

"Clear as a crystal, sharp as a knife / I feel like I'm in the prime of my life."

Celeb gossip site TMZ.com has a picture of the tattoo, and claim an unnamed source said she got the lyrics because "It represented where she is in life and everything she's been through . . . it signifies that she's focused."

Focused on what exactly, we're not quite sure. But what we are sure of is just how great the 'I Go to Extremes' video is. In case you haven't revisited it in the last few decades, you owe it to yourself to spend the next four minutes and nine seconds with this:
