Led Zeppelin were fishing for trouble at the Edgewater Inn in Seattle during their first U.S. tour. Some have said a shark was involved, while others have claimed a red snapper. But it's apparently true that some of the members of Zeppelin, their road manager and members of Vanilla Fudge were all involved in using a fish they had caught to penetrate a young groupie. Robert Plant denied the story after it first came out in 'Hammer of the Gods,' but road manager Richard Cole and Vanilla Fudge drummer Carmine Appice both later confirmed it, though their accounts differ. According to some recollections, some of the musicians' wives were even present.
