Vintage Led Zeppelin and related items always fetch a high dollar on the collectors market, but recently a contemporary piece of Jimmy Page memorabilia earned an impressive $1750.00 during an eBay auction.

Genesis Publications are renowned in the publishing world for their lavish, collector’s editions books and this autographed Page title obviously is worth its weight in gold to Zep fans. The book is heavy and oversized, with 500 pages and more than 650 photographs and illustrations.

Individually numbered and signed by Page, this book is hand-bound in Morocco leather and laser-cut Perspex. This is Page’s first official published work; a photographic autobiography of his career. The guitarist spent months sifting through the thousands of prints that would eventually be narrowed down and arranged in to a narrative sequence. When it finally launched in 2011 it was hailed as the publishers “biggest ever limited edition” book.

Page uses his own words in form of extended captions to describe and document the pivotal times in his life and also includes visas, photos and stamps from his own passports. The book starts with Page as a schoolboy moving forward to his time with the Yardbirds through Led Zeppelin, ARMS, The Firm, Outrider, Coverdale & Page and Page & Plant to present.

Page comments "I’ve really got a lot of time for the way Genesis produce their books, they’re really quality items. As someone who’s always been interested in having a library themselves, I appreciate fine bookbinding and their whole ethic of what they do and what they’re trying to do with a whole catalog of books.”

These books are now completely sold out from the publisher, so the only way to obtain one of these is to find one through a collector or an auction like this one. Happy hunting!
