The short run of 2016 tour dates that briefly reunited Dokken's classic lineup are due to be commemorated with a CD/DVD/Blu-ray package, Return to the East 2016, scheduled for release later this year.

According to Dokken's label, Frontiers, the new package will contain footage from the group's performance at Loud Park in the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan, on Oct. 8, 2016, as well as a new studio track recorded by the reunited lineup, "It's Just Another Day." Scheduled for release in the U.S. on April 20, it's already available to pre-order at Japanese outlets, where the film portion of the program is listed as having a 90-minute run time.

Return to the East 2016 has been brewing for some time. Speaking with the Classic Metal Show last spring, Dokken professed not to understand the reasons for the long holdup between the reunion shows and the live album's release, although he did hint at a huge amount of backstage video and promised "a lot of bonus footage" on the DVD and Blu-ray. And while he's always insisted he sees no reason for a long-term revival of this Dokken lineup, he added he and guitarist George Lynch seemed to have mended fences — something reflected in the duo's recent performance at NAMM 2018.

In other Dokken-related news, Lynch has embarked on a more full-scale reunion with his other fellow vets from that era of the band, joining up with bassist Jeff Pilson and drummer Mick Brown for a new project called Super Stroke. Though the band's upcoming album doesn't have a release date yet, Lynch has described their sound — which is topped off with vocals by Lynch Mob vet and current Warrant singer Robert Mason — as "just insane."
