Devo Co-Founder Gerald Casale’s $1.2 Million Home for Sale
It's just the house, the house u want.
Gerald Casale, the bassist and a co-founding member of Devo, has put his Palm Desert, Calif., home on the market for $1.2 million. You can see pictures of it below.
According to the listing, the 3,218-square-foot, mid-century modern house, which sits on a half-acre lot, was built in 1963, and features four bedrooms and four bathrooms, one of which has a Japanese-style step-down tub. There are high-beamed ceilings, a pool with wood floors, a fireplace and floor-to-ceiling windows that provide a view of Mount Eisenhower. One of its rooms can be used as a study or as a separate residence.
Casale has knocked $300,000 off from the original asking price of $1.5 million, and noted that, contrary to his band's futuristic approach, he's a fan of the mid-century "Modern" style. He previously restored a Hollywood Hills home designed by Richard Neutra, a process that took seven years to complete.
"It's perfect for someone who really appreciates mid-century architecture and wants something with the original details still intact," agent Gregg Fletcher told Realtor.com.
Casale made headlines a few years back when news leaked that his wedding reception, which took place on Sept. 11, 2015, featured a 9/11 theme. Guests were given box cutters, the weapons terrorists reportedly used to hijack the planes that flew into the World Trade Center buildings, and the cake included figures of the bride and groom on top of the fallen Twin Towers. Casale said he had nothing to do with the theme and that the party was planned by a friend.
