Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen bravely takes on the world's hot chili pepper, known as Bhut Jolokia or 'The Ghost Pepper' on film for the pilot promoting his friend's new cooking show. Collen, 'the kitchen guest celebrity,' holds his own as he eats what the Guinness World Records named (in 2007) the hottest chili pepper in the world.

401.5 times hotter than Tabasco sauce, Collen and his buddy Lloyd (the vegetarian/vegan chef) take on the bold and mighty red pepper, chasing it with scrambled tofu and almond milk. The goal is to eat the entire pepper and it's pretty impressive to watch the guitarist maintain his composure so well.

Lloyd informs his guest "your body thinks it's on fire so it releases endorphins to deal with the stress that it thinks you're going through. You're going to get high from the endorphins." Collen wastes no time coming back with a one word response that plays way wittier on film than it does in words: "duuuuddde."

Lloyd encouraged the camera man to try the pepper too, in what could be possibly considered an assault on a filmmaker. In the end, the three daredevils earned their seats in the kitchen with Collen definitely proving he can stand the heat.
