Mark your calendars or make a reminder in your SmartPhone to watch the top-rated reality competition show 'American's Got Talent' on Sept. 7, because Def Leppard will take the stage and perform that night. (Of course, you should also watch because the show is, ahem, riveting, right?)

Joe Elliott and co. are set to perform 'Pour Some Sugar on Me,' arguably their biggest commercial single in a career littered with big commercial singles, as well as 'Rock of Ages.'

Ozzy Osbourne's wife, Sharon Osbourne, sits on the show's judging panel, so the show does have a deep-rooted association with British rock music! Sharon and the band can compare notes about whether Britain has better talent than America, since 'America's Got Talent' is based on a British show called -- natch --  'Britain's Got Talent.'

It's worth noting that reality talent shows are embracing classic rock artists lately. Not only is Def Leppard gracing the 'America's Got Talent' stage next month, but Judas Priest performed on 'American Idol' this past spring. Additionally, pop diva Christina Aguilera had her charges sing The Who's 'Baba O'Riley' on 'The Voice.' Clearly, classic rock is well-represented on some of pop culture's most watched TV programs.

Def Leppard's first-ever live release, the 'Mirror Ball: Live and More' CD/DVD set, which we talked about at some length with drummer Rick Allen, is out now.
