David Bowie vs. Michael Anthony: March Mullet Madness
Other than achieving fame and fortune through rock music, David Bowie and Michael Anthony probably didn't have a whole lot in common. But they both did rock the same haircut, which makes it fair for us to make them face off against each other in the first round of March Mullet Madness.
We’ve lined up some of history’s most spectacular mullets and paired them off against each other for a series of tonsorial battles. We'll be halving the field every week based on your votes, until only the greatest mullet in rock ‘n’ roll history is left standing.
Bowie was known for his constantly evolving styles and highbrow fashion sense. His Tennessee tophat was part of the look he sported for one of his most famous personas, Ziggy Stardust, an extremely flashy, literally out-of-this-world rock star.
Meanwhile, former Van Halen and current Chickenfoot and the Circle bassist Anthony seems more interested in comfort than keeping up with the latest trends. So his "party in the back, business up front" look most likely wasn't the result of some grand plan or series of late-night meetings with his stylist. You see, the world don't move to the beat of just one drum..
Regardless, which of these mullets gets your vote? If you just can’t decide, don’t worry — you can come back and keep voting once an hour between now and when the Round One polls close on March 21 at 11:59PM ET. Our March Mullet Madness winner will be announced on April 12.
