Meet Daniel Webber, ‘The Dirt”s Vince Neil
The cast for the upcoming Motley Crue's biopic The Dirt boasts some impressive credits. There's a Game of Thrones alumni, a major rap star and even a Saturday Night Live cast member.
But for the role of singer Vince Neil, producers opted to go with a young rising star.
Australian-born actor Daniel Webber first turned heads in the U.S. with his portrayal of Lee Harvey Oswald in the Hulu mini-series 11.22.63. But he is perhaps best known for his role in the Netflix TV series The Punisher. The show, based on the Marvel Comics character, found Webber playing Lewis Wilson, an Army veteran suffering from PTSD as he struggles to adjust to civilian life. After two seasons, Netflix recently canceled the series.
Webber’s other credits are far less known in the States, though the actor has steadily worked in his homeland, appearing on the long-running Australian TV dramas All Saints and Home and Away.

During a September 2018 red-carpet interview, the actor explained his enthusiasm for The Dirt. "I auditioned all last year, waiting for a role that really called to me," Webber explained, noting that the chance to play Motley Crue's frontman presented an exciting challenge. "It was a role that was very expressive and, just let me grow as an artist and grow as a performer. That can be a hard thing to wait for, but I think it's an essential."
The Dirt makes its debut on Netflix on March 22.
