This rocker grew up in Lafayette, Indiana, where, while attending Jefferson High School, he become somewhat of a local juvenile delinquent. After numerous arrests and several stays in the slammer, he split town in 1982 at the age of 20 and headed for Los Angeles, where he would go on to front one of the most notorious and controversial rock 'n' roll bands of all time. (And to think, he looks so innocent here..)

He withdrew from public view following the collapse of his band in the mid-'90s, but has since reformed it with all but one other former member missing from the lineup and recently wrapped up a massive tour that included their first trek across the U.S. in five years.
