U2 had the audience at their Philadelphia show last week join them in singing 'Happy Birthday' to South African revolutionary and former president Nelson Mandela, who turned 93 yesterday (July 18).

After the concert's final song, 'Moment of Surrender,' Bono asked the crowd to sing for Mandela, referring to him by his nickname Madiba. "This man means so much to us," Bono told the audience.

The video was shown on Mandela's actual birthday yesterday during a New York dinner in honor of him that was attended by actor Morgan Freeman, who played Mandela in the movie 'Invictus,' along with other celebrities. Mandela, himself, spent his birthday in South Africa with his family.
