One's opinion of Rob Zombie's cover of 'We're An American Band' will go no further than one's opinion of Rob Zombie. The song is truly a cover -- the hard rocker changes very little about the Grand Funk Railroad original beyond putting his scorched, metal vocals in place of Don Brewer's.

Motorhead, Rush and Aerosmith are amongst the nominees in 11 just-announced categories for the fifth annual Revolver Golden Gods Awards Show, but the highest honors will go to Metallica and Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi, in addition to Rob Zombie. Metallica will also play at the show's live concert on May 2 at Club Nokia in Los Angeles.

Rob Zombie, in an ambiguous statement, has canceled his remaining European tour dates. He assured U.S. fans, however, that his July shows “are not canceled. Everything after June is fine.”
