The list of presenters at this year's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Ceremony is arguably as prestigious as the class they're inducting. John Mellencamp, Billy Gibbons and Dusty Hill from ZZ Top, and Steven Van Zandt of the E Street Band will all be introducing Donovan, Freddie King and the Small Faces, respectively. And yet, it will be the comedian that is likely to get all of the attention.

The people who vote artists into the Rock Hall take their responsibility very seriously, and the decisions they have made with regard to the people they have chosen to introduce the newest inductees over the years were done so with a near crippling amount of seriousness.

What a pleasant surprise, then, to find that Chris Rock will be presenting the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The safe choice would have been George Clinton (that is surely the first time those words have ever been spoken), but Rock will make for some good television, which is something the induction ceremonies could sorely use. We're still scratching our heads over Chilis guitarist John Fruiscante's decision not to attend, though.

Some of the other presenter/inductee pairings include Bette Midler for Laura Nyro, Chuck D for the Beastie Boys, and Smokey Robinson for his backing band the Miracles. As for Guns n' Roses, well, they are still working on it. You just can't make stuff like that up, people.
