Red Hot Chili Peppers to Broadcast Live Concert to Movie Theaters Nationwide
The Red Hot Chili Peppers are making the Aug. 30 release of their new album 'I'm With You' a real event by performing the entire record live in a concert that will be broadcast live to participating movie theaters.
Originating from Cologne, Germany, 'The Red Hot Chili Peppers Live: I'm With You' is being billed as a one-time only live performance of the full 'I'm With You' album in a set that will also be peppered with a selection of greatest hits.
The entire performance will be presented in HD, live via satellite. As we look at the list of participating theaters that have been announced so far, chances are really good that you'll be able to get in on the action in your hometown.
We're stoked, because we'll finally get the chance to see and hear what this new album sounds like. It will also be pretty cool to see how new guitarist Josh Klinghoffer fits in with the Peppers.
This new theatrical event joins the previously announced RHCP television broadcast on the Fuse network that will happen that same day, featuring a pre-recorded concert to be captured in mid-August at the Roxy in Los Angeles. In other words, before you go to the movies, be sure to set your DVRs so you catch both shows.
Tickets for the HD theater presentation will go on sale starting today at rhcplivehd.com.
