With public interest particularly high due to the runaway success of last year's Academy Award-winning movie Bohemian Rhapsody, Queen, with Adam Lambert as the lead singer, began their Rhapsody tour at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver last night.

You can check out the set list, photos and videos from the show below.

The set opened with “Now I’m Here” and sailed through as many hits as the band could squeeze in, ending with its signature song "Bohemian Rhapsody," with a total of 34 Queen tracks making an appearance in some form.

Once again, the late Freddie Mercury was present in video form for the playback of a handful of songs, including his famous “Ay-Oh” audience-participation routine and “You Take My Breath Away.”

Lambert continued his tradition of reassuring fans by addressing the “pink elephant in the room” and reminding them he was there to “carry the torch for Freddie Mercury and let Brian [May] and Roger [Taylor] continue to play these amazing songs.”

With a cover of the May solo song “New Horizons,” a guitar solo and a taped outro featuring “God Save the Queen” and David Bowie’s “Heroes,” the full show included 37 pieces of music.

Even though Lambert has been fronting the band since 2011, with this new trek being their third time in North America together, he doesn't think they'll make an album. “People always ask if we want to record together,” he said recently. “I’m not sure it makes total sense because it wouldn’t really be Queen, because to me Queen is Freddie."

He may not be recording with Queen, but Lambert nonetheless has his solo career, with an album called Velvet to be released on an as-yet unannounced date. He also finds working with Brian May and Roger Taylor on their stage show to be creatively fulfilling.

“My favorite thing is collaborating and putting these concerts together and creating onstage -- it’s super fulfilling and exciting," he noted. "To present these ideas to these two gentlemen -- especially when they like the idea!”

The Queen + Adam Lambert tour continues tomorrow at the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, Wash., and runs through Aug. 23 at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, N.C. You can find more info here.
