John Corabi's tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of the album he recorded as the lead singer of Mötley Crüe is being commemorated with an album and DVD.

Billed as the Mötley '94 Tour, the dates found Corabi performing the 1994 LP in its entirety — a trek that, as he explains in the video interview above, gave him a surprising firsthand education in just how many fans continue to hold a special place in their hearts for his brief stint with the band.

"People were coming to me and they were saying things like, 'Dude, I've waited 20 years for this.' So I started thinking," said Corabi, explaining that as he looked back on Mötley Crüe's tour in support of the album, he realized it only amounted to a few months' worth of dates. "There were a ton of places in America we never even played. We never played Canada, South America, we never came to Europe. We never did anything. So I sat there and I went, 'You know what? There are probably a lot of people that want to see this.'"

Unfortunately, as an independent artist, Corabi can't afford to pull up stakes and send his band around the world; as he put it, "It's a money thing." Putting a "Mötley '94" gig on DVD and CD, however, gives fans who missed the tour an opportunity to experience the next best thing — and though he didn't offer a release date, it sounds like fans can expect to see see and hear this sooner than later.

"I just said, 'You know what I'm gonna do?' I went to Nashville and I recorded the whole thing for a live album and I recorded the whole thing for a DVD," said Corabi. "I'm gonna pack the two together, and for anybody that wants to see it and can't, it'll be coming out soon."
