At a planning meeting on Thursday (June 23), three design proposals were presented for Seattle's Jimi Hendrix Park, which is set to undergo a complete renovation.

The architecture firm Murase Associates, who earlier this year were selected to give the 5.8 acre park a 'cultural renovation,' presented three proposals at the Thursday meeting. Some of the ideas include a stage for music events, walkways with inscribed Hendrix lyrics along them and various educational aspects throughout the space.

The project is being funded by charity donations to the Jimi Hendrix Park Foundation, with money still being raised to reach the estimated $2 million needed to complete the renovation. Anyone interested in making a donation can do so at this location.

Murase Associates will present a final plan for the Jimi Hendrix Park renovation at a meeting set for Aug. 10 at the Northwest African American Museum in Seattle.
