Best known as drummer for Cream and Blind Faith -- and for sporting a less surly mug in his early days -- Ginger Baker celebrates his 73rd birthday on Aug. 19.

Since disbanding from Eric Clapton's company in 1969, the boy from South London moved on to form and join other groups, including: Ginger Baker's Air Force, The Ginger Baker Trio, BBM and Masters of Reality. (Check out his hysterical critique of American tea from the latter band right here.)

In 2005, Cream was reunited for a handful of shows at the Royal Albert Hall and Madison Square Garden. A documentary about the drummer, entitled 'Beware of Mr. Baker,' was released in 2012.
