The group enjoyed a bevy of hits in the '70s.

He also penned some of Murphy's most famous films, including 'Coming to America.'

New Yorker, who also worked with Cheap Trick and Patti Smith, has died at 80.

He sang with them across five different stints from 1979 to 1994, including at Live Aid.

He also sat in with the Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix and Paul McCartney before joining Fleetwood Mac.

He played on a huge Roy Orbison hit, one of Bob Dylan's most famous albums and Dolly Parton's signature song.

He also worked on famous records by the Doobie Brothers, Little Feat and more.
