This late rocker's photo certainly comes screaming from the big-haired '80s. It's a promo photo, as opposed to an authentic yearbook photo, but we couldn't resist showing you this hairdo.

He grew up in Washington State, attending Meadowdale High School.

Tragically, this frontman died on April 5, 2002, at the age of 34, from a drug overdose. He struggled with addictions through much of his band's fame as one of the biggest groups of the grunge era. He was a crucial member of the sound and scene and had an incredibly distinct-as-DNA, gravelly voice.

His band continues to make music with a new singer and enjoyed a resurgence in recent years. But this guy? He is still missed like a severed limb.
