This female runaway rocker, whose real last name is Larkin, was a sophomore at Wheaton High School in Maryland in the photo above, which is from 1974. She was born September 22, 1958, and has spent much of her adult life loving rock 'n' roll.

Her guitar playing prowess, not to mention her signature leather jeans, Converse sneakers and shaggy black locks, inspired a generation of girls to think guitar playing and rocking out are how life should be lived.

She enjoyed cult success as a member of an all-girl band in the mid-to-late '70s, so this is a photo of our gal just before she decided to give herself up to rock music! When her all-female group split in 1979, she went on to have an even bigger career as a solo act, cranking out several hard rock hits.
