He is a 1994 inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, an author and a Grammy winner, who is best known as one of the two drummers with rock's original jam band. Although our mystery rocker is Brooklyn born and Long Island raised, he first gained fame with one of the best known bands to emerge from the San Francisco psychedelic music scene of the 1960s.
